The AI food & symptom journal

Find your food triggers.

Bellynote is a food and symptom tracker. Snap a photo of your meal, and it notices which foods and food groups line up with your bloating, headaches, and energy dips.

Coming soon to iOS and Android.

How Bellynote finds your food triggers

Most food journals fail because they're too much work. Bellynote is built for real life. Three steps, seconds each.

STEP 01

Log meals with your camera

Snap a photo of your food and our AI instantly identifies every ingredient. Confirm or adjust, then save in seconds.

STEP 02

Track symptoms & activities

Note how you feel as the day goes: headaches, bloating, energy dips. Pick a severity and move on.

STEP 03

Discover your triggers

Bellynote reads your logs and shows which foods keep showing up before your symptoms. Set the lookback window anywhere from 4 to 24 hours.

A food and symptom tracker that connects the dots

Built for people with food sensitivities, IBS, or a stomach that keeps them guessing. And for anyone curious how food affects how they feel.

AI meal scanner

GPT-4o vision identifies ingredients from a single photo. No manual entry, no guessing.

Symptom correlation analysis

Heatmaps and timelines show which foods line up with how you feel. Set your own lookback window, from 4 to 24 hours.

Calendar & daily timeline

Browse your full history by date. Every meal, symptom, and activity in chronological order.

Severity tracking

Log how strong a symptom feels on a 0 to 10 scale, then watch the trend over 7, 30, or 90 days.

Food group breakdown

Bellynote sorts every food into 12 groups: gluten, dairy, nightshades, legumes, and more.

Dark mode

Easy on the eyes at any hour. Automatic system-matched or manually toggled.

See which food group keeps showing up

Bellynote doesn't stop at "chicken" or "toast." Every ingredient gets sorted into a food group, so you can catch a pattern across grains, legumes, nightshades, dairy, and more, even when the dishes look nothing alike. Why grouping matters

Category, not just ingredient

A slice of pizza and a bowl of pasta both count toward "Grains & Gluten," so patterns show up even when the meals look nothing alike.

12 built-in groups

Nightshades, legumes, dairy, FODMAPs, and more are tracked as you log. No tagging on your end.

Ranked by how often they show up

See which groups appear most in your logs around symptom flare-ups, ranked from most to least frequent.

Drill into any group

Tap a group to see every food in it and every symptom logged nearby, so you can confirm the pattern before you change anything.

Connect your cycle to your cravings and symptoms

Hormones change what you crave and how your stomach handles food. Log your cycle next to your meals to see the whole picture. What the research says

Log cycle phases

Mark period days right alongside your meals and symptoms. No second app to keep in sync.

Spot craving patterns

See which foods you reach for during PMS, ovulation, or your period, and whether they repeat month to month.

Correlate cycle-linked symptoms

Bloating, headaches, and energy dips often move with your cycle. Bellynote factors phase in alongside food when surfacing correlations.

One shared timeline

Cycle days show up on the same meal and symptom calendar you already use, so everything sits in one place.

Frequently asked questions

How the food and symptom tracking works, what you can log, and what happens to your data.

How does Bellynote find my food triggers?

You log meals by photo and rate symptoms on a 0 to 10 scale. Bellynote sorts every ingredient into a food group, lines your symptoms up against what you ate over a lookback window you choose (4 to 24 hours), and ranks the foods and groups that show up most often around your rougher days. A pattern is a lead worth testing, not a diagnosis.

Is Bellynote a replacement for an elimination diet?

No. Bellynote helps you spot which foods are worth testing so you are not eliminating things at random. The most evidence-backed approach for gut symptoms is still a time-limited low-FODMAP trial with careful reintroduction, ideally guided by a registered dietitian. Bringing organized logs to that process makes it far easier.

What can I track in Bellynote?

Meals (via camera or manual entry), symptoms with a severity scale, activities, sleep, stress, and menstrual cycle phase. Cycle and period data can be imported read-only from Apple Health or Health Connect so it lines up with everything else without double logging.

Which food groups does Bellynote track?

Twelve: grains and gluten, dairy, nightshades, legumes, cruciferous vegetables, FODMAPs, added sugar, caffeine, alcohol, fermented foods, spicy or capsaicin-containing foods, and tree nuts and peanuts. Ingredients get sorted automatically as you log.

Is my health data private?

Yes. Your logs are yours. Bellynote does not sell personal data, and health data imported from Apple Health or Health Connect is read-only, so Bellynote never writes back to those apps. See the Privacy Policy for details.
